Background Check Process
Coordinate all of the required background checks. The NJ State Commission requires all Prospective AmeriCorps Members to complete three background checks prior to the start of their service term.
1. NSOPW: Name Check through the National Sex Offender Public Website
This will be completed by Program Managers. No action is required by Prospective Members.
2. Truescreen: Name, NSOPW, State of Service and Residence Check
This will be initiated by Program Managers. Prospective Members will need to provide their consent and initiate check via email as instructed. Individuals must input some parts of their personal information into Truescreen system and upload a government issued ID. Please consent and approve the check in a timely manner.
3. Schedule and Complete FBI Fingerprint Background Check appointment through Fieldprint.
