PROGRAM AT A GLANCE & KEY FACTS

The Bonner Foundation and The College of New Jersey sponsors a multi-site collaboration involving institutions of higher education (The College of New Jersey, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Rider University) and 6 non-profit organizations to have 55 AmeriCorps members who provide services related to youth literacy, college access, job preparedness, and food security. New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps members commit to a year of direct service by offering academic support to disadvantaged youth, job skill training and GED prep to underemployed persons, and help low-income individuals increase food security and wellness education in Mercer and Middlesex Counties in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps Program provides full-time, part-time, and minimum time AmeriCorps positions. Each New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps member will receive a living allowance and an education award upon successful completion of their term of service. The living allowance amount varies upon the type of slot and on where you serve.

For over 15 years, the New Jersey Bonner AmeriCorps Program utilizes the talents and interests of college students and community members, the resources of institutions of higher education and the expertise of community-based organizations to address issues related to college access, food security, job skilling training, and youth literacy.
