Reporting and funding are two areas where there are differences in the expectations of and support for Bonner Scholar and Bonner Leader Programs.  We outline these below.  You will find more detailed directions for both reporting and funding processes under Guides.  For convenience, we have included links to some of these guides in the summary text below.

Bonner Student Files

You should keep a personnel file for each Bonner Scholar where you have access key documents related to their application, enrollment, and other activities in the Bonner Scholar Program such as a record of the number of hours of service performed, and any change of status requests.

Tracking Bonner Scholarship Funding

We use the Bonner Web-Based Reporting System (BWBRS) to track the semester allocations and reimbursements and community fund. The requirements and process for tracking student status and these funds can be found in the Bonner Scholar Program Rules. the BWBRS Step-by-Step Guides which show how we manage this process online

Bonner Leader Program Funding

Unfortunately, the Bonner Foundation is no longer able to fund Bonner Programs that are not already supported through a permanent Bonner Program Endowment.  As a result, Bonner Leader Programs are self-funded.  This includes stipends for Bonners, staffing, travel, and other program-related expenses.

The required stipends for Bonner Leaders usually comes from Community-Service Federal Work-Study funds.  Read more about the requirement that schools dedicate a minimum of 7% of their annual Federal Work-Study to community service positions here:
