Highlighted Bonner Specific Programs:

  • Year-Long Capstone—Every Siena Bonner completes a year-long capstone project starting in their Junior year and culminating Senior year with a TED style Community Engagement Talk (CETx) and presentation at the college's Academic Showcase. Students work with a faculty mentor, community partner, and center staff to develop and execute a community based research project, fulfilling one of the requirements in the Center's Certificate in Community Development.  

  • Summer Gear Up Orientation—This is a week long orientation currently in its eighth year. Summer Gear Up is a chance to integrate new students into our Center and campus and help them understand the work that we do. We offer a variety of trainings, social activities, reflection and service opportunities throughout the 7 days which students can engage in.  
  • First Year Trip Exploring Appalachian Culture -This is a week long trip to West Virginia, typically for first year Bonners. The purpose of this trip is to provide a unique experiential program to learn about Appalachian life and culture using film, literature, group bonding outings, and intensive workshop experiences.
