BONNER PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
Headed by the Collaborative Center for Community Engagement, a unit of the Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement (DICE), this program enables committed, passionate Bonner students to serve 8-10 hours per week performing direct service at community-based sites in New Brunswick. Funded by Federal Work Study, each year, Bonners enter the program as first-year students, creating cohorts for each level. As students progress in the program, they have opportunities to take on leadership positions. While engaging with the community, the students are supported by a unique mentoring structure that involves bi-weekly meetings that help them acquire personal and professional development skills in the areas of meeting facilitation, event planning, policy research, volunteer management, etc.
