Averett University
Averett University's Bonner Program uses a triangular approach to assess the program. Using this approach, community partners asses students, and students assess community partners, the director, and the program. The Bonner program staff also take input from other Averett staff. With faculty, there is a constant open line of communication with both community partners and students. Specifically, for students, the faculty uses a CARE report system to monitor students’ progress in their classes. The CARE report/early alert system is used at Averett University to help any student who might be having a challenge in class, seem withdrawn or less social, or just for any concerns that anyone might have about a student and are tracked through the Student Success Center. This approach creates an open line of communication with diverse stakeholders and helps them make sure it is operating in the best way.
Wilkes University
Wilkes University's Bonner Program staff developed a survey in collaboration with their Institutional Research Office. The survey provides an opportunity for students to share their perspectives on Bonner Orientation, service sites, and other program activities. The survey data help staff assess different aspects of the program and its effectiveness, gauge student learning, and inform program planning.
